Bhilwara: Speaking at a programme organized by the Federation for Ecological Security and Rural Development and Panchayati Raj department, Central Minister of Road Transport and Highways Dr. C.P. Joshi said, “In order to realise the dreams of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi of developing the villages, amendments were made to the constitution to give the villagers special rights under the Panchayati Raj system. But there is acute lack of awareness in implementing the system.”

Joshi further said, “Pasture land is the life line of the villages. Securing the land, plantation and water conservation are some of the methods that will help enhance the lifestyle of rural people and would also improve the condition of the panchayats.”

“To make Bheelwada an ideal district new innovations have been introduced in 33 villages. The courts have also directed strict orders relating to the pasture lands in the villages.”

State education minister and in-charge of Bhilwara district Naseem Akhtar also addressed the public on the occasion.
