Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir police department has started a district-wise public outreach programme through which people can interact with the cops directly.

The first such workshop was conducted at Baramulla district headquarters on Thursday and was attended by senior police officers and eminent citizens, a police spokesperson said.

The workshop would bring the police and public closer to each other and will help in strengthening the police-public relations, Munir Ahmad Khan, Deputy Inspector General of Police for North Kashmir said.

"Public cooperation is mandatory for result oriented policing and the force has achieved their goals at different fronts through full cooperation of the people in the state," he said.
