Chandausi (Bhimnagar): People of Chandausi staged a vehement protest against the state government’s decision to locate the headquarters of new Bhimnagar district to Pawasa town near Sambhal tehsil.

Earlier, the government decided to make commissionary office of the new Bhimnagar district at Bahjoi town in Chandausi tehsil, which invited sharp reactions from the people of Sambhal tehsil following which the decision to shift it to Pawasa town has been taken that was also protested by the people who assembled at Favvara Chowk on Sunday and announced ‘Bazar Band’.

Later, the protesting mob burnt the effigies of Chief Minister Mayawati, BSP MP Shafiqur Rahman Barq and BSP MLA from Chandausi Girish Chandra alleging the government of following a discriminatory attitude towards the people of Chandausi.

Shouting anti-government slogans, the protesters announced that the movement will not stop until the government makes Chandausi as the headquarters of new Bhimnagar district.
