Bhopal: Passion for public welfare has made the Madhya Pradesh Panchayat and Rural Development Minister Gopal Bhargav a debtor of Rs 1 crore.

Carrying public welfare programmes like marriages of girls belonging to needy families, providing financial assistance for medication, supply vehicles for performing last rites to poor and needy in the state, Bhargav is not left with any option rather than shutting down his self run public welfare projects.

Due to heavy debt levying on him, the Minister has decided to close all the self running public welfare programmes and assist the people through government schemes.

Note informing the people about his decision is being circulated within the state.

Speaking about his heavy debts, the generous leader said “I will try to clear all the debts from my salary” adding “I will continue helping people through various government schemes.”

Arranging hundreds of weddings of girls from poor and needy families for years, Bhargav also used to provide assistance of Rs 30, 000 under his self run programmes to the girls. The projects of supplying vehicles for last rites cost Bhargav Rs 4,000 per day.
