Alleging the ruling Badal family had monopolized the business of sand, crushing-units, transport and liquor in the state, Singh said that people were being burdened with exorbitant rates of such materials and facilities.
    
Addressing Congress workers at Bhawanigarh in Sangrur district, the former chief minister said that building a house is now beyond common man's wildest dreams due to high prices of construction materials.
    
"Once the Congress comes to power, the Badals would be dealt severely for their misdeeds and repression of opposition," he said.
    
The state coffer is at the verge of bankruptcy while the father-son duo (Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal and his deputy Sukhbir) are busy in filling their family coffer, Amarinder Singh alleged.
    
People belonging to all sections of the society are ‘fed up with the dictatorial attitude of the SAD-BJP alliance’ and they should be ready to face the music in the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections, he said.
