Gurdaspur: Congress workers led by party MP Partap Singh Bajwa on Friday blocked traffic for two hours on the Gurdaspur-Pathankot road to protest alleged registration of false cases against party workers as part of "vendetta" by ruling SAD-BJP combine in Punjab.

Addressing the gathering, Bajwa said despite assurances by Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal that the state government did not believe in targeting Congress workers, police was acting in a partisan manner and false cases against Congress workers were being registered.

"Congress rank and file will not sit silent against the repressive policies of Badal government and continue to expose the misrule," he said.
