Amritsar: CLP leader Sunil Jakhar on Sunday accused the SAD-BJP coalition government of willfully keeping the Agriculture portfolio in Punjab without a head as they were "not serious" towards farmers.

Presently, the Agriculture portfolio is without a head which depicts the real attitude of Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal as he was not serious enough to the growth of farmers, Jakhar claimed.

Badal had not allotted the portfolio to anybody after the resignation of former Agriculture Minister Tota Singh, he said, adding that he should himself take its charge so that the current problems of farmers are addressed.

The Health and Education system in Punjab, which form the backbone of the state, have collapsed due to "fractured policies" of the government, he also alleged.
