Chandigarh: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Sunday questioned Technical Education Minister Swarna Singh’s Personal Secretary Bhag Singh for two hours in the Rs 1.5 crore graft case, which sparked off a heat in the political landscape of Punjab. However, Bhag Singh is yet to be arrested by the CBI.

Meanwhile, detained Chief Parliamentary Secretary of the state imcluding  BJP MLA Raj Khurana resigned from his post. Khurana’s close aide Davinder Singh who has also been arrested  gave several important details during his interrogation. He also revealed the names of five persons involved in the 14 acre Zirakpur graft case. CBI has decided to issue summons to these five persons. The list includes the name of officials who hold important government posts and have played a key role in the property business.

DIG, CBI Mahesh Agarwal, said, “Influential people are involved in this case.”

Sources also said that CBI is trying to dig up three month old telephonic records between Davinder Singh, Swarna Ram and State Local Bodies Minister Manoranjan Kalia.

Manoranjan Kalia and Swarna Ram have already been summoned and will appear before the agency on May 9.

CBI officials along with with Khurana and Davinder reached Zirakpur at about 7 am and questioned some builders of the area in this regard. Meanwhile, CBI has seized Punjab Auto

CBI is keen to comprehend that despite having information of the graft case, why no action was initiated against the guilty by the officials and ministers.
