Chandigarh: Humid conditions continued to cause inconvenience to people in Punjab and Haryana while mercury shot up by few notches in both states.

Humidity level was recorded at 90 percent in various parts of the region.

Chandigarh had a high of 33.6 degree Celsius, up by a notch above normal, as per Met office data.

In Haryana, Ambala and Rohtak had a maximum of 35.7 deg C and 36.6 deg C, up by three notches each above normal.

Among other places, Hisar, Bhiwani and Narnaul had a high of 37.2 deg C, 35.6 deg C and 35.2 deg C respectively.

In Punjab, Amristar and Patiala recorded mercury at 36.8 deg C and 36 deg C while Ludhiana at 33.9 deg C.

Met in its forecast said light to moderate rain may occur at few places in Punjab and Haryana.
