Chandigarh: Maximum temperature continued to remain below normal level in Punjab and Haryana, though humid conditions prevailed in the region.

Chandigarh recorded a maximum of 32.5 degree Celsius, down by two notches below normal with a humidity level of 81 percent, as Met office data.

Amritsar and Ludhiana recorded high of 34.2 deg C and 34 deg C respectively while Patiala had a maximum of 33.4 deg C.

In Haryana, Hisar recorded sharp drop in mercury as it settled at 33 deg C, down by 5 notches below normal. Narnaul had a high of 33.2 deg C, dipping by 4 degrees.

Ambala, Karnal and Rohtak had maximum of 33 deg C, 33 deg C and 34 deg C respectively.

Met in its forecast said light to moderate rain may lash few places of Punjab and Haryana.
