Patiala: Punjab Congress President Amarinder Singh along with his family members on Monday cast his vote here for elections to the 117-member state assembly.

Amarinder was accompanied by his mother, Mohinder Kaur (89), sister Roop and cousin brother Raja Randhir Singh who is also the Secretary General Indian Olympic Association.

The Punjab Congress chief's wife and Union Minister Preneet Kaur and the couple's daughter Jain Inder Kaur and daughter-in-law Rishma Singh came in a separate car to cast their vote.

The elder son of Jai Inder Kaur, Angad Singh also accompanied them.

Amarinder Singh escorted his mother Mohinder Kaur to the polling booth at the Government College for girls and waited as his wife Preneet Kaur and others casted their vote.

Amarinder's son Raninder Singh, who is contesting as Congress candidate from neighbouring Samana constituency, voted here early morning and rushed to his constituency.
