Sri Anandpur Sahib: The Punjab government on Friday announced to erect monuments in the memory of martyrs Bhai Mati Dass, Bhai Sati Dass and Bhai Dyal Dass, who laid down their lives while fighting with the Mughals.

The concept and design of the monument will be finalized in consultation with eminent Sikh scholars, intellectuals and religious personalities, an official release quoting Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal said.

Badal was addressing a religious gathering, it said. The three martyrs were killed along with the Sikhs' ninth Guru Teg Bahadur while fighting with Mughals at Chandni Chowk in Delhi.

The Chief Minister said that the unparallelled sacrifice of Guru Teg Bahadur ji will ever remain a source of inspiration for generations to come.
