Phagwara (Punjab): A woman and her accomplice were arrested for allegedly strangulating her husband to death in April, police said on Saturday.

Monica Bedi alias Mona and her accomplice Ranjit Singh alias Jeeta were arrested on Friday night for killing Jaspal alias Gora earlier this year over some property dispute.

Another accomplice Kalu, brother of Mona, is still at large, police said. Mona and Gora, a Dalit of Dhak Pandori village here, had solemnised their inter-caste marriage on February 27 and had been living on Bhagatpura road here, police said.

Gora was found dead in the house on April 19 after which his father Paras Ram alleged foul play. Mona and Jeeta were arrested under various Sections 302 (murder) and 34 (acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention) of the IPC.
