Purnia (Bihar), Jan 07 (Agencies): A local weekly editor, Naulesh Pathak, arrested in connection with the murder of Purnia BJP MLA Raj Kishore Keshari, was remanded to judicial custody on Friday for 14 days by a Bihar court.

After subjecting him to an intense interrogation in presence of DIGP Amit Kumar and Superintendent of Police NH Khan, police produced Pathak before the Chief Judicial Magistrate DL Prasad.

Rupam Pathak has been accused of stabbing to death Keshari in full public view at his residence in Purnia on Tuesday.

The journalist, who is not related to Rupam, is editor of local English weekly 'Quisling' which had for the first time reported Rupam's complaint about being sexually harassed by the MLA some months back.

The journalist was arrested on Thursday after an FIR was lodged against him, Rupam and an unknown person by the MLA's nephew Sudip on Wednesday night.

The FIR also complained of conspiracy behind the murder. The family members of Navlesh had alleged that police were biased and apprehended threat to him under custody.

Meanwhile, All India Progressive Women's Association (AIPWA) activists held protests in the town demanding a probe either by a judge of the Patna High Court or the CBI.
