New Delhi: Dissident BJD leader and Rajya Sabha MP Pyarimohan Mohapatra seems to be giving sleepless night to Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik with sharpening his attack on the BJD chief over bringing in internal democracy in the party.

Talking to reporters at Bhubaneswar, Pyarimohan accused Naveen Patnaik of violating the party’s constitution to remain president of BJD.

The seed of internal bickering in the BJD had been sown on May 29 when several MLAs had assembled at the Pyarimohan’s house forcing the Chief Minister to cut short his trip to London in the wake of possible fissure in the party.

The CM suspended Pyarimohan from the party, following which the dissident leader resigned as BJD parliamentary party leader in the Rajya Sabha.

Action against Pyarimohan comes after Naveen got reports on how the bureaucrat-turned-politician tried to stage a coup within the party while the CM was away on an eight-day tour of Britain.

Pyarimohan has been the mentor of Naveen Patnaik in running the government as well as the party.

Pyarimohan would have a major say in the ticket distribution for assembly and parliamentary elections.

It remains to be seen that how will Naveen run the government as well the party organization in the days to come as Pyarimohan has been the trouble shooter and advisor to the BJD chief for the last 12 years.

Pyarimohan formed Odisha Jana Morcha (OJM). He will hold a show-of-strength rally in Bhubaneswar on October 28. The success of rally will decide the next move of Pyarimohan.
