The Emir, accompanied by a high-level delegation comprising ministers, senior officials and business leaders arrived in New Delhi on Tuesday for a two-day India visit to boost ties between the two nations.

“The main focus of the meeting between the Emir and the top Indian leadership would be on investment opportunities for Qatar in the South Asian country,” said MEA Spokesperson Syed Akbaruddin in a statement.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi led-government has decided to seek the Gulf nation's help for securing release of 39 Indians kidnapped by the Islamic State (IS) militants in Iraq.

Emir will hold separate talks with Modi, President Pranab Mukherjee, Vice President Hamid Ansari and External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj.
