Patna: The Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) on Saturday unanimously selected former Bihar Chief Minister Rabri Devi as party’s candidate for elections to the State Legislative Council to be held later this month.

RJD secretary general and MP Ram Kripal Yadav said the legislature party decided to field Rabri in the polls. The decision was taken during a meeting organized at Lalu’s residence in the state capital.

The parliamentary board meeting of the party will meet on Sunday.

Rabri had suffered a humiliating defeat at the hands of JDU nominees from Raghavpur and Sonpur Assembly constituencies during the 2010 Assembly elections.
