New Delhi: Corporate lobbyist Niira Radia in her latest revelations on Thursday has linked Union Minister Sharad Pawar with the scam-tainted DB Realty firm, but the senior leader denied any connection with that company.

Union Agriculture Minister alleged to have association with so many scams including IPL gate, Lavasa and now DB Reality and Swan Telecom pooh-poohed the corporate lobbyist’s claim.

Radia in her response to the CBI interrogation has reportedly stated that Pawar controlled DB Realty and pursued the issue of spectrum and license for Swan Telecom with former Telecom Minister A Raja.

She, however, made it clear that it was her perception of ‘Mumbai people’ that she was talking about and she has no documentary proof to support her stand. Her statement was registered in the CBI chargesheet.

Refuting her claims, Pawar said that Radia’s allegation is an absolute lie and irresponsible and one should not give too much importance to her statement.

He, however, agreed on her claim that he knew Goenkas of DB Realty for the last 35 years, as they had set up a milk processing unit in Baramati about 20 years back.

Pawar said, “We were farmers who used to help Goenkas in getting good quality milk. I am an Agriculture Minister not a Telecom Minister and have no involvement or association with any telecom company.”

Meanwhile, Congress has detached itself from the whole controversy. Congress spokesperson Manish Tewari said, “The minister has said all, we don’t want to comment on anything”.
