San Jacinto (California): Rahil Gangjee opened with a disastrous six-over 77 that may well have ended his chances of making the midway cut in the $725,000 Soboba Golf Classic.

Gangjee picked up just one birdie on the very first hole but that was followed by seven bogeys at the Country Club at Soboba Springs.

Daniel Chopra shot even par 71 and was tied 79, needing a good round to make the cut.

Cameron Percy shot eight-under 63 to take the opening round lead.

American Doug La Belle, Australia's Bradley Iles and Peter Lonard and Argentine Miguel Angel Carballo shot 65 each.
