London (Agencies): AR Rahman’s fans were disappointed on Sunday after the music composer lost out on a British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) award in the Best Original Music category.

Alexandre Desplat won the award for his score in ‘The King’s Speech’.

This was Rahman’s second BAFTA award nomination for Danny Boyle’s ‘127 Hours’. He had won a BAFTA in 2009 for ‘Slumdog Millionaire’.

However, the 45-year-old composer has already bagged the Best Original Song award at the 16th Critics' Choice Awards last month for his number 'If I Rise' from '127 Hours'.

Rahman has been nominated in two categories -original score in '127 Hours' and original song 'If I Rise'.
