Los Angeles: This time, Indian music maestro AR Rahman wasn’t proved lucky enough at Hollywood’s biggest night, the 83rd Academy Awards in Los Angeles. He lost the Oscar for best original score in ‘127 Hours’ to composer duo Trent Rezmor and Atticus Ross who bagged the trophy for ‘The Social Network’.

Rahman is also nominated in the best song category with Dido and Rolo Armstrong, who have written the lyrics of ‘If I Rise’.

Earlier this year, the singer missed the Golden Globe award as well as British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) award for best original music in "127 Hours".

Melissa Leo and Christian Bale won the award for best supporting actress and best supporting actor respectively for their role in ‘The Fighter’.

Wally Pfister walked away with the best cinematography in the sci-fi film ‘Inception’ and Richard King took home the best sound editing award for the same film.

Robert Stromberg and Karen O'Hara won the Oscar for best achievement in art direction for ‘Alice in Wonderland.’

Director duo Shaun Tan and Andrew Ruhemann won the golden statuette for the best animated short film for ‘The Lost Thing’ while ‘Toy Story 3' won best animated feature film.

Aaron Sorkin won his first ever Oscar for adapted screenplay for ‘The Social Network’.

'In A Better World' won the Oscar for foreign language film.

Atwood won the award for best costume design for 'Alice in Wonderland'.

The Academy award for best makeup went to Rick Baker and Dave Elsey for "The Wolfman", while
Oscar for sound mixing went to Lora Hirschberg, Gary Rizzo and Ed Novick for ‘Inception’.
