New Delhi (Agencies): Oscar Winner A R Rehman has topped the music download chart of handset maker Nokia's Ovi Music store in India, while Shakira's Waka Waka has been the global favourite on the Finnish firm's music store.

Nokia Ovi Music is an exclusive application store from where customers can download or share music.

Across several music categories on Ovi Music services, since the time of its launch last year, Rahman has consistently been the most downloaded Indian artist on Ovi Music Store in India, Nokia said in a statement.

Shakira, with her official World Cup song Waka Waka, was the most downloaded international artist globally, followed by Taylor Swift and Norah Jones. India accounted for 25 per cent of the total global downloads of Shakira's song, it added.

According to the statistics, Bollywood music, especially romantic songs, is among the most popular form of music in India followed by 'pop' and 'rock' genres, respectively.

"Music is an intrinsic part of the Indian society. We are proud to announce the legal digital music consumption trends on the store for 2010 and we earnestly hope the trend of legal digital downloads will continue to grow," Nokia India Head Services Marketing Jasmeet Gandhi said.

'Tere mast mast do nain' and 'Munni badnam hui' from the film 'Dabaang' were among the top five downloaded songs, while the most downloaded playback singers were Rahet Fateh Ali Khan and Mamta Sharma.

Amongst the music directors, Pritam topped the popularity charts, followed by Sajid-Wajid, Vishal-Shekhar and Salim-Sulaiman.

Among the popular albums of 2010, Enrique's album 'I like it' outperformed his contemporaries, while Michael Jackson's 'Hold my hand' and Justin Bieber's 'Baby' were at the second and third spot.
