Rahul also alleged that when Telugu Desam Party (TDP) chief Chandrababu Naidu was the Chief Minister of the state, the condition of farmers was pitiable.

"When UPA came to power in 2004, we opened the gates of the banks to farmers so that they get easy loans. We also gave them a debt waiver of Rs 70,000 crore," he said, asking them to vote en masse for Congress and assuring the United Progressive Alliance would keep working for their cause.
