Kolkata: Former Indian skipper Rahul Dravid on Thursday said that he was lucky to have had the talent to play cricket for India.

Speaking on the sidelines of a felicitation ceremony in recognition of his Padma Bhushan award, the 38-year-old former Indian captain said, “I feel very lucky that I had the talent to play cricket for this country. Cricket is the number one sport in this country. I feel privileged to have played for my country. I couldn't have asked for anything more.”

"When you start playing you don’t think about the awards, you just play for the love of it. There is no specific reason why you choose to play this particular game. And when you get awards and recognition from the government, from the people, it is a matter of great privilege and honour,” he added.

Rajasthan Royals led by him in the ongoing IPL 6 tournament has won six games from nine and stands a good chance of winning the tournament.
