New Delhi: After facing three humiliating defeats during the ongoing England tour Indian camp has little to cheer about as the Indian pair of middle-order batsman Rahul Dravid and batting maestro Sachin Tendulkar on Saturday become the most successful run-getters in Test cricket.

The duo surpassed the previous record of Gordon Greenidge and Desmon Haynes of West Indies who have together scored 6482 runs in partnerships during their Test career.

The duo achieved the feat during India’s first innings in the fourth and final Test against England at the Oval.

Dravid and Tendulkar have together shared 19 partnerships of more than 100 runs and have stood together for more than 50 runs on 25 occasions. The highest stand between both the players is 249.
