"I feel that Rahane has been the most successful Indian Test batsman in the last one year. We played four overseas tours in the last one year and his performance was very good in all these four tours," Dravid said at a promotional event, here on Thursday.

"Some players performed in one or two series but Rahane was one player, who performed well in all the four series," the Rajasthan Royals 'Mentor' said of Rahane, who score Test centuries in New Zealand, England and Australia.

Dravid, feels that current lot of players are better than their generation comprising of him, Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly, VVS Laxman and Virender Sehwag.

"I feel that the current lot of Indian cricketers are better than our generation. This middle-order has a lot of
talent and ability and has the potential to achieve more than what we did. I believe our batting line-up including Murali Vijay, KL Rahul, Shikhar Dhawan, Cheteshwar Pujara, Virat Kohli and Rahane will perform much better with experience," he noted.

"I believe that going ahead, Rahane - along with the other guys - can bring great stability to the Indian line-up. And if India wants to succeed then three-four have to establish themselves and play for a long period of time. Then I think India will do very well," he added.
