Raut said Rahul disrespected the Prime Minister by skipping dinner in his honour and added that he had went abroad so that he does not need to show his face after his party is reduced to rubble in the Lok Sabha elections.

“Rahul Gandhi is a foreigner. He comes to India for a holiday. When he is done, goes back to his foreign home,” Raut said.

“Maybe he is preparing to stay abroad, he had gone to hide his disappointment,” added Raut.

Raut said in his role as Congress’ star campaigner in this general election, Rahul had failed terribly and was never a match to Bharatiya Janata Party’s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi.

The belligerent Sena leader added that since Rahul was completely devastated by the results of the exit polls, therefore, he has gone into a hiding.

Meanwhile, several Congress leaders defended Rahul for not being present at the dinner in the honour of Manmohan Singh, saying the party vice-president had already personally met the Prime Minister and expressed his gratitude towards him before flying abroad.

They added that Rahul Gandhi will be back in the country by Thursday.
