"Rahul will be on a two-day visit starting January 22 during which he will meet party workers and make surprise inspection of some villages to review progress of central schemes," Rahul's representative Chandrakant Dubey said.

Meanwhile, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Kumar Vishwas continued his campaigning in the region and targeted Rahul on development issues.

"A lot of claims have been made on development of Amethi but the reality is that there is no development here... Coming here and returning after waving at people will not serve the purpose of development," he said.
