Gwalior: The political winds have started changing directions in Uttar Pradesh thanks to the constant visits by Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi. The Gandhi scion’s tours are now paying off as party MP from Firozabad Raj Babbar feels that due to his efforts people have started connecting with the party.

In an unofficial visit to Gwalior, Babbar said, “Rahul’s recent visits to west Uttar Pradesh and taking up farmers issue has given a good standing to the party in the state where the Congress had nearly lost its existence. This is the reason why the party is gaining the support of people.”

He hinted that in the forthcoming UP Assembly elections, the land scam issue would be taken up vociferously by the Congress party.

On Lokpal Bill, Babbar said, “The Bill has now been approved by the Cabinet and there would be discussions in Parliament on this. In a way it can be said that nothing has been finalised on the Bill.”
