New Delhi: Union Minister Harish Rawat on Wednesday claimed that "Rahul magic" has worked wonders for Congress especially in Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh and will yield positive results in Parliamentary elections in 2014.

"Rahul magic has worked wonder for the Congress especially in assembly elections in Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh," Rawat said on the sidelines of "Chhattisgarh mahotsav" function.

The Congress General Secretary's "charm was visible in election rallies of the party in which youths participated in a large number, he said.

"This is just the prelude ans it will show positive results in Parliamentary elections in 2014 too," Rawat, who is Minister of State for Agriculture, Food Processing and Parliamentary Affairs, said.

On choice of Chief Minister from the party in Uttarakhand, Rawat, a senior Congress leader of the hill state said Congress President Sonia Gandhi will take a decision which will be acceptable to every partymen.

Rawat, the fifth term Member of Parliament from the state, is considered as frontrunner for the CM post in the hill state if Congress comes to power there.

Taking potshot at BJP, the Congress leader said that the rival party's gamble to replace Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank with B C Khanduri to improve its prospects in the assembly poll there "badly flopped".

"People of the state understood the game plan which was nothing but a cover-up operation of the misdeeds of the party during its rule and have punished the party in the elections," he said.

Uttarakhand has already completed voting and counting of votes will take place on March four.
