"BJP has been deploying professionals to corner Rahul and its other political enemies by indulging in misinformation campaign for a long time. That is why I always tell Rahul to get active on the social media and give a fitting reply to them," Singh told reporters here.

According to him, Rahul does not have a Facebook or Twitter account as of now. "But he should open an official account on the two social networking sites in view of its popularity among the youths," the Congress General Secretary added.

When asked, Singh denied that some senior Congress leaders had expressed doubts on Rahul's ability to lead the party in view of his possible elevation as President.

"Sonia Gandhi is the President of the Congress party. If she and the Congress Working Committee (CWC) decide to make Rahul as the President, then all leaders of the party will accept it," he explained.

The Congress veteran alleged that during Rahul's recent 56-day sabbatical, BJP leaders indulged in "misinformation campaign" by questioning his absence.

"But the Prime Minister and Union Home Minister were aware about his whereabouts as Rahul is a Special Protection Group (SPG) protectee," he said.
