New Delhi: Railways seem to have come up with a plan to tackle the huge passenger rush witnessed during the festive season. Other than introducing 62 special trains to different destinations, it plans to keep a check on the misuse of Tatkal bookings especially by touts.

And for this, the railways have introduced a new reservation form. The passengers will now have to fill a ‘PINK FORM’ at the booking counter to avail Tatkal tickets. Continuing with the earlier practice, passengers will have to provide personal details in the form.

A set of warnings, including deboarding at the next station, imposition of fine or imprisonment in accordance with provisions of the Railways Act — if the address and other details furnished are found to be false — will be printed on the new form.

The new form will be effective from this weekend and will have just four columns for passenger names.

Railway has also installed jammers to stop the misuse of mobile phones in reservation halls at IRCA Sarojini Nagar, Shahdara railway counter, Delhi junction, Noida and Ghaziabad railway stations as well as Hazrat Nizamuddin railway counter.

Officers, inspectors and supervisors will be deputed at stations. They will sign the first 15 requisition slips of Tatkal passengers to ensure that first-come-first-serve system is not violated.
