Allahabad: In a bid to ensure transparency in the system, the Railway Board has asked all officials and workers across 18 zones, 68 rail divisions and factories to declare the details of their immovable assets online. The process has begun in North Central Railway Zone Allahabad.

The Central Vigilance Committee (CVC) in its report stated that the Railways was the most corrupt department. As per the CVC report, nearly 1, 000 rail officials were punished in 2010 in corruption cases.

It is also understood that the Railways has kickstarted this project to improve its image, bring transparency in its functioning and to root out corruption from its departments.

The officials will have to send entire details of their immovable assets including farms, house, shops etc.
