According to reports, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is unhappy over the functioning of Gowda and he wanted to replace the Karnataka politician with some one who will prove more efficient.

According to media grapevine, former Union minister Suresh Prabhu may be roped in for replacing Sadananda Gowda as Railway Minister, in a bid to tone up functioning of the government’s largest enterprise.

Railways hold prime importance in Modi's scheme of things to bring the derailed Indian economy on a path of high growth. Besides that without changing the face of railways in the country, the NDA Government will be unable to launch the massive infrastructure development project  and that is why Modi is mulling an option to change the portfolio of Sadananda Gowda.

Railway is one of the prime agenda of Modi  government. Even during the campaigning for the Lok Sabha polls in May this year, Modi has made it clear that he will leave no stone unturned to bring Railway on modernization path. Finance Minister Arun Jaitley while presenting the first ever budget of the Modi government has also allocated a huge amount of money to check the feasibility of bullet trains on few selected routes.

The NDA Government is all set to expand its ministry on Sunday. More than 20 new ministers are reported to be inducted in the Narendra Modi-led government at the Centre.
