New Delhi: The total earnings of Indian Railways during the financial year 2011-12 were Rs 104,278.79 crore compared to Rs 94,670.76 crore during fiscal 2010-11, registering an increase of 10.15 percent.
The goods earnings have gone up from Rs 62,940.81 crore during 2010-11 to Rs 69,675.97 crore during financial year 2011-12, an increase of 10.70 percent.
The total passenger earnings during the last fiscal were Rs 28,645.52 crore compared to Rs 26,006.77 crore during the fiscal 2010-11, recording a growth of 10.15 percent.
The revenue earnings from other coaching amounted to Rs. 2825.16 crore during financial year 2011-12 compared to Rs. 2522.81 crore during the financial year 2010-11, registering an increase of 11.98 percent.
The total number of passengers booked during 2011-12 was 8306.16 million compared to 7888.91 million during the same period last year, showing an increase of 5.29 percent.
