Agra: The Maharaja Special, a train that never falls short of giving you a royal feel, would once again run on railway tracks. The Indian Railways Catering Tourism Corporation (IRCTC), the tourism arm of Indian Railways, has tied up with travel company Cox & Kings India (CKI) to launch a pan-India luxury rail services.

The services of the train launched with world class luxurious facilities would commence from 22 October, 2011. As of now, only four routes of the train have been decided including Agra.
Scores of tourists visiting Agra for having glimpse of Taj Mahal can also enjoy the feel of royal travelling.

Decked up in the Mughal style, the 23-coach train has the capacity of accommodating as many as 84 passengers. Loads of facilities like fine-dining cabins, 24-hour butler service and swanky sleeping units equipped with LCD TVs and air conditioning make travelling unforgettable. The different restaurants are also available in the train.

Shamsuddin Khan, President of Approved Guides Association Agra said, “The services of Maharaja special train is also helping in promoting tourism.”
