It's unfortunate news from Colombo as the much-anticipated contest between Sri Lanka and Australia has been called off due to persistent rains that showered the Premadasa stadium.

The contest hung in balance with both sides well placed but unfortunately for the players and the fans as rain played party-pooper and had stopped play.

Skipper Kumar Sangakkara is leading from the front and fighting hard to keep the scoreboard ticking along. In the event, he notched up another fifty in ODI career.

Meanwhile, Steve smith had not got the ball in his hands yet but still made a huge impact in the game with his electric fielding, he plucked a stunner off Upul Tharanga and now has hit the stumps bulls-eye to remove Mahela Jayawardene.

After an eventful start of the match, Sri Lanka lost two quick wickets but it seemed the momentum had again turned Lanka's way as skipper Kumar Sangakkara and seasoned campaigner Mahela Jayawardene launched an onslaught against the Aussies.
