Chandigarh: Rains lashed a few places in Punjab and Haryana on Sunday while maximum temperatures hovered close to the normal levels.

Hisar in Haryana received heavy downpour of 41 mm and the maximum was recorded at 34 degree Celsius, the MeT Office here said.

Narnaul (26 mm) was also lashed by rains and the maximum settled at 32 deg C while Rohtak registered a high of 34.6 deg C.

Ambala, which received light rain, recorded a high of 34.5 deg C.

Chandigarh had partially overcast sky on Sunday and the maximum here settled at 34 deg C.

In Punjab, Ludhiana (17 mm) was lashed by showers and maximum was recorded at 33.7 deg C.

Patiala received light showers and the maximum there settled at 35.2 deg C. Amritsar registered a high of 32.9 deg C.

The MeT has forecast light to moderate rain or thunder showers would occur at a few places in the two states during the next two days. Increase in rainfall activity in Haryana and Punjab has been predicted from Tuesday onwards.
