With rains lashing the region, foggy conditions dissipated from both the states, bringing air and rail traffic back on track, officials said.

The minimum temperatures hovered between three to six degrees Celsius above normal in most parts of of Punjab and Haryana, the MeT office said while predicting more rains in the next 24 hours in the region.

While Patiala was drenched by 27.2 mm of rains, Karnal received 25.5 mm of rainfall.

Among other places, Chandigarh received 24.4 mm of rains followed by 11.2 mm at Ambala, 9.6 mm at Ludhiana, 8.2 mm at Amritsar and 6 mm at Hisar.

The minimum temperature in Amritsar was recorded at 7.8 degrees Celsius, three notches above normal.
