After Kapil Sharma expressed his frustration over paying a bribe of Rs 5 lakh to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) to get his office constructed, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis was quick to respond to allegations of corruption and bribe-taking but Shiv Sena, MNS got furious after the allegations were levelled.

"Kapil Sharma is a very famous person and thus the moot question he needs to answer is that why would he give the bribe when somebody asked for it. Giving bribe makes him as much of a culprit as the one who asked for it," Sena spokesperson Manisha Kayande said.

"This is not a comedy show where he can tweet what is going on in his life. He needs to immediately name the person publicly who asked for a bribe or people would watch the whole episode like a comedy drama, laugh over it and forget about it," she said.

Earlier, Kapil Sharma had tweeted out to PM Narendra Modi complaining that he had to pay Rs 5 lakh bribe to the BMC to get his office constructed.

In another tweet, he asked PM Modi if these are the 'Acche Din'.

Fadnavis, who is quite active on social media, assured Kapil that the culprit will be caught. He took to Twitter and wrote: “Kapilbhai pls provide all info. Have directed MC, BMC to take strictest action. We will not spare the culprit.''

BMC also requested comedian Kapil Sharma to lodge a formal complaint and tell them the name of the officer who demanded the bribe from him.

BMC further said that strong action will be taken against those found guilty.
