Gurgaon: Yoga guru Baba Ramdev paid tribute to her supporter Raj Bala who succumbed to her injuries in a hospital recently. She had sustained severe injuries during the police crackdown on Ramdev supporters in the Ramlila grounds.

Speaking with reporters here on Tuesday, Ramdev said Raj Bala’s martyrdom will not go waste. “By defeating the Congress in Hisar bypoll, people will show them the repercussions of crushing the people’s movement,” said Ramdev.

The yoga guru said that Prime Minister Manmohan Singh criticized dual strategy of the US to counter terrorism but did not mention about black money issue the country is facing.

After paying homage to Raj Bala, Ramdev mentioned that the Delhi Police following the directions of the Central government, launched crackdown on his supporters, who were demanding the return of black money stashed away abroad, at the Ramlila Maidan.

“Raj Bala became the victim of the police brutality and we will not let her martyrdom go waste. The government may not recognize her as a martyr but it will understand the importance when time comes,” he added.

“By not accepting Rs 2 lakh compensation from the government, Raj Bala’s kin have showed that money is not important when it comes to the country,” Ramdev added.

Raj Bala’s family returned the Rs 2 lakh ex-gratia and demanded that the culprit be brought to book.

“A wave for change has been initiated in the country and its results will be seen in future,” Baba said.
