Thackeray visited Maria's office at the Police Headquarters in South Mumbai at about 11.15 am, police sources said, adding that the meeting between the MNS chief and city's top cop lasted for about 30 minutes.
"It was a courtesy visit by Thackeray," Deputy Police Commissioner (spokesperson) Mahesh Patil said.

Thackeray had last week carried out an anti-toll collection agitation where scores of MNS workers held protests across the state demanding its abolition. Thackeray was stopped in Chembur and detained by police while he was heading towards the Vashi toll booth as part of the stir. He was later released.
Maria, who took over as the Mumbai Police Commissioner on Sunday, stressed on adopting zero tolerance towards street crimes while describing urban terrorism and organized crime as challenges before the force.
