Ahmedabad: Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray, who is said to be an ardent supporter of Chief Minister Narendra Modi, is scheduled to visit Gujarat from August 3 to 11.

The Chief Minister Office has decided to treat Raj Thackeray as a state guest. The political circle is abuzz with Raj’s 9-day visit to Gujarat. Impressed with the developmental model of Modi, Raj now wants to learn details of development of the state.
He will also visit cities including Gandhinagar, Surat, Vadodara and Rajkot.

Known for making acerbic remarks against North Indians in Mumbai, Raj will start his tour by paying tributes at Mahatma Gandhi’s Sabarmati Ashram on August 3.

Raj’s visit is being considered important politically. He had supported Modi’s name for Prime Ministerial post in 2009.

The growing Modi-Raj friendship is seen as an opportunity for the BJP to make another partner in Maharashtra.

Recently, Raj had surprised everyone after he visited BJP party office in Maharashtra. After this, the Shiv Sena has toughened its stand on the BJP.
