Jaipur: The budget session of Rajasthan Assembly began here on Monday with the address of Governor Shivraj Patil amidst severe disruptions by the opposition parties over the issue of compensation to the farmers whose crops got affected by the frost.

CPI (M) MLA Amra Ram started shouting anti-government slogans as soon as the Governor highlighted the public welfare initiatives of the Ashok Gehlot government during his address.

The MLA was later joined by other CPI (M) MLAs Pema Ram and Pawan Duggal and BJP MLA Hanuman Beniwal and former minister Golma Devi. They staged protest against the government and stormed anti-government slogans in the well and later walked- out of the Assembly.

The Governor carrying on with his address in the Assembly said that the government is imparting tremendous efforts on public welfare projects in the field of education and health. Moreover, he also acclaimed that the government is working towards maximizing job opportunities in the state.

Patil also underlined the government schemes like Mukhyamantri Nishulk Dawa Yojana and Rajasthan Janani Shishu Suraksha Yojana.

The state budget will be tabled into the Assembly on March 23.
