Fearing the similar rout in the next Parliamentary elections, a section of Congress is of view that it will be beneficial for the party to make alliance with the BSP. However, they want to give only two seats to the BSP.

The Rajasthan Pradesh Congress Committee (RPCC) has already held initial talk with BSP leadership in this regard. The RPCC is likely to apprise the party high command of their view soon.

Sources close to the Congress said that out of 20 party MPs in the state, about six Parliamentarians are unwilling to contest polls fearing their defeats. The prominent names are national general secretary CP Joshi, Jaipur MP Mahesh Joshi, Rajsamad Parliamentarian Gopal Singh Shekhawat and Sikar MP Mahadev Singh Khandela.

According to a senior Congress leader, the party is mulling to field Bollywood actor Sunny Deol from the state. Rajasthan has 25 LS seats. In the last general elections in 2009, the Congress won 20 seats and BJP managed to register victories in 5 constituencies.
