Jaipur: In what would add to the woes of Public Health and Water Resources Minister of Rajasthan, Mahipal Maderana, husband of the missing nurse Bhanwari has alleged that the minister has a role in the case.

Amarchand, on Thursday threatened to immolate himself along with his three children if the culprits are not brought to the books. He had earlier sought police protection for himself and children.

Minister’s name has been figuring in the case ever since the news of the nurse gone missing started doing rounds.

Meanwhile, the Congress high command has sought a detailed report in connection with the case. Mukul Wasnik, general secretary, All India Congress Committee (AICC) and in-charge of the state has asked the Chief Minister and Dr Chandrabhan, president of the party state unit to submit their report.

Also, the pressure for Mahipal Maderana’s resignation is increasing within the party. However, Maderana met the Chief Minister on Wednesday night to give his explanation.

Meanwhile, the Rajasthan government has recommended a CBI inquiry into the case.

Rajasthan Home Minister said, “As our cabinet’s colleagues name is being linked in the missing nurse case, the investigation conducted by the state police will be questioned. Maderana has no objection in CBI probing the case and hence the government has decided that CBI should probe the case.”

“A police team would be sent to Jhansi in UP for investigation,” he added.

The police had failed to trace Bhanwari Devi, the auxiliary nurse & midwife (ANM) who also allegedly featured in a CD in a compromising condition with Maderana.

The CD allegedly showed Public Health and Water Resources Minister Mahipal Maderana with Bhanwari Devi, who disappeared from Jodhpur two weeks ago.
