Jaipur: The Rajasthan government has decided to distribute free medicines in all hospitals in the state from Gandhi Jayanti, October 2. In a bid to execute the scheme, the government has set up Rajasthan Medical Services Corporation for distributing free medicine.

A meeting of ministers under the stewardship of Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot was held on Wednesday. As per the scheme, a total 13,874 medical counters would be set up in the government hospitals through which 352 kinds of medicines and 68 other things of medical uses would be distributed.

The medicines would be given to indoor, outdoor patients along with patients of Thalassemia and Hemophilia, government officials, and retired government employees, BPL people, families under Antyodaya Anna Yojana, old age pensioners, widows and physically challenged people would also be liable to get free medicines.
