Jaipur: The state government has decided to hand over the investigation into the Ajmer blast case to the National Investigation Agency (NIA), following the advice of Central Government. Currently, the Rajasthan Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) is probing the case. The state home department already approved the proposal.

Earlier, Union Home Ministry in its letter to State Home Ministry conveyed that the investigation so far in the Ajmer blast revealed the hands of Hindu outfit like it was suspected in Malegaon and Hyderabad blasts.

According to the Union Home Ministry as NIA is investigating these two blasts, the Ajmer blast should also be handed over to it.

Meanwhile, the state government has tightened the security in the mosques and its surrounding areas. The key accused in the blasts of Ajmer, Samjhauta Express and Malehgaon, Swami Ashimananda, has sent a letter to the President stating that he was pressurized to accept his guilt by the ATS. According to him, he was pressurised by the ATS to sign on confession papers.  Ashimanad, who was now in the central jail, also stated, “I was terrorized to be turned approver in the case.”

The ATS is preparing to file the chargesheet against Swami Ashimananda and other accused in the court. The court will hear the case on April 8.
