Bundi: The Rajasthan Anti–Corruption Bureau has arrested a local revenue official for allegedly taking a bribe of Rs 200.

Ramkalyan Meena was arrested while allegedly accepting a bribe on Wednesday for issuing an updated copy of the account of agricultural land (Jamabandi), Additional Superintendent of Police, Jassaram Boss said on Thursday.

Meena had two months back taken Rs 1,200 from Rajendra Singh for providing him with a copy of the Jamabandi for his plot of agricultural land in Ghota gram panchayat of Indergarh
Tehsil, Boss said.

However, Singh got an incorrect copy after which he asked Meena to issue the document afresh with the necessary corrections. For this, the Patwari allegedly demanded an additional Rs 200, prompting Singh to report the government official to police.

Singh met Meena yesterday at a tea stall on the Lekhari–Bundi road where officials caught him while allegedly taking bribe, Boss said.

A case had been lodged against Meena and he will produced in a court on Thrusday, he added.
