Jaipur: In a measure to develop the agriculture sector, Rajasthan Agriculture Department is all set to flag off new projects in the state. The plans would be financially assisted by the Union Ministry of Agriculture.

A total sum of Rs 210 crore has been sanctioned to the State Agriculture Department in order to boost the agriculture sector.

As per the provision, Rs 35 crore would be invested for the development of rain-fed areas. This project would be implemented in 15 districts of the state. For development of fodder and to ensure its availability throughout the year, Rs 45 crore would be invested for evolving new agricultural techniques and methods.

Rajasthan Agriculture Department would focus on improving the quality of pulses and protection of plants. In this regard, Rs 43.22 lakh has been sanctioned.
Among other plans, Rs 110 crore would be earmarked for ensuring better utility of water for irrigation and Rs 40 crore for making 8000 farm ponds.
